Here are a few benefits of using Pack Tracker:
  • Know what's in your pack(s)
  • List your Pack Inventory Several ways
  • Know how much money is vested in your pack and the items in your pack. Great for insurance and/or tax write-off (If you belong to Search and Rescue and some other volunteer organizations you can write off equipment used for that organization)
  • Track weight of each item including the pack and show total weight of your pack.
  • Track items that have an expiration date like:
  • Food
  • Moisture Check
  • Batteries
  • Liquid Items
  • Other
  • Easily keep pack updated
  • Simply use the mouse to drag and drop an item from one compartment to another
  • Drag and drop from one category to another.

Pack Tracker is a program that will track and categorize all the items you have in one or more packs. Back packs, quad packs, saddlebags, even fishing tackle boxes can be tracked using the Pack Tracker.

One question I even had to ask myself! What in the world do I need a list for, and why should I get a program specially made to track my information in my packs?

Let me answer the first one first! If you have a great memory and just one pack or box, you may not need the Pack Tracker. You could just as easily put your information into an Excel spreadsheet, or write it down someplace.

But if you have multiple packs or even multiple locations where you store your camping equipment, survival gear, fishing tackle, hunting gear, packing gear, you will appreciate the Pack Tracker.

You see, I do search and rescue and I have packs on my ATV, an overnight pack I carry for hiking (and I carry it with me on my ATV. In my rear ATV pack I have 3 compartments and in one of those compartments I carry another pack, which has more compartments. I also have a fanny pack with compartments for my GPS, compass, map gear, and a few essentials.

It can get pretty confusing after a while.

But the good news for you is I make inventory database programs for a living.  I didn't just throw this program together. I wanted to be able to track my pack(s) inventory in a number of different ways, by pack, category, and by the items in the packs.

Of course when you're out in the boony's you probably won't be using your list to find what you want, but you could!

This is one of the easiest ways to not only make sure you have all the right equipment with you when you go on your outing, but also to help you decrease the weight of your pack by not having duplicate items.

And since Pack Tracker can track the weight of each item, you can configure your pack for different kinds of trips.
